The Easter Bunny is going to be made out of solid gold next year after the amount of money the US is expected to spend on Easter 2017. The National Retail Federation's annual Easter survey revealed that Americans will spend around $18.4 billion for the holiday this year, a six percent increase from last year. $18.4 billion is the highest predictionin NRF's 14-year history and 200 million more than they projected would be spentfor Valentine's Day 2017. The reason for the increase is attributed to Easter falling later in 2017 than it did in 2016, in addition to retailers stepping up their game. "Easter has turned into a popular gift-giving occasion, which equals a major opportunity for retailers. We're seeing lots of retailers with Easter gift departments online and in their stores."
