Pink Floyd forever immortalized in a shrimp

A newly-discovered shrimp species has been named after legendary rock band, Pink Floyd. The Synalpheus pinkfloydi has a bright pink claw that stuns its prey by producing a sound up to 210 decibels, which louder than any rock concert. The name was given by lifelong Pink Floyd fan Dr. Sammy De Grave, who head of research at Oxford University Museum of Natural History. The description of this new species of pistol shrimp was the perfect opportunity to finally give a nod to my favorite band.
