A green sea turtle in Thailand, nicknamed "Bank," had surgery on Monday to remove 915 coins from her stomach. Bank lives in a pool at a conservation center in Sri Racha and unfortunately for her, the Thai people beleive that throwing coins on turtles will give them longer life. The change formed a large, five pound ball in her stomach that inhibited her ability to swim properly and caused a life-threatening infection. The surgery went well even though the procedure took four hours because they had to remove the coins a little at a time.
