After what might be the biggest Oscars snafu in history, Jimmy Kimmel took to his show on Monday night to give his take on what happened when Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway mistakenly presented the best picture award to La La Land over Moonlight “See what Warren did there?” said Kimmel of the moment when Beatty hesitated before handing the envelope to Dunaway. “He was confused, so he let her read the winner. In other words, Clyde threw Bonnie under the bus. I have to be honest … it’s one of the slickest moves I’ve ever seen. Kimmel insisted the mixup was not a prank, saying he’d probably have included a Bed, Bath & Beyond coupon instead of the actual winner in the envelope.
