Homeless migrants in Serbia battle to keep warm

With winter now in full-swing and temperatures well below zero, thousands of migrants and refugees continue to live on the streets of Belgrade.

Trapped in Serbia since the borders closed in March last year, around two-thousand migrants and refugees, mostly from Afghanistan and Pakistan, huddle around fires on the streets and attempt to keep warm by pouring hot water over their bodies from cups.

The temperature in Belgrade in the last few days has dipped as low as -11 degrees C and has been continuously freezing for several days in a row.
