Donald Trump blasts republicans for gutting ethics panel

President-elect Donald Trump attacked House Republicans Tuesday after they proposed a measure that would gut an independent ethics panel. House Republicans voted 119-74 on the measure during a closed door meeting. Per the proposal, the independent Office of Congressional Ethics would be placed under the control of those same lawmakers. Essentially, the lawmakers are eliminating the very office that can investigate them for misconduct. The change in rules coincides with Republicans taking control of two branches of government.
