A powerful earthquake hit Chile on Sunday with a 7.7 magnitude about 140 miles southwest of Puerto Montt. There were no immediate reports of mass damage, with only minor known damage. A tsunami warning was originally issued by the Chilean Navy within the epicenter where the quake struck. "Much strength and encouragement to the compatriots affected by the tremor in Chile and other areas in the south. Emergency procedures are already in place," Chile's President Michelle Bachelet tweeted.
