10 Bizarre Planets Where It Rains, But Not Water

Here are 10 planets where it rains substances ranging from fabulous to freakish.

Earth isn’t the only place in the universe where rains fall from the skies; however, while we enjoy often-benign showers of water, other places are hit with substances that range from fabulous to freakish.
Here are 10 of them.
Number 10. Jupiter. Between the planet’s gravity and atmospheric pressure, helium and neon, substances that would normally be gasses, get compacted into metallic fluid droplets.
Number 9. COROT-7b. Should the opportunity to haul off to this exoplanet ever arise, pack a very sturdy umbrella. Researchers believe it rains rocks there.
Number 8. OGLE-TR-56b. Hot liquid iron. No joke, that’s what gets dumped on the planet every time storm clouds erupt.
Number 7. HAT-P-7b. It turns out that rubies and sapphires falling from the heavens isn’t just the stuff of dreams. Here, both gems flow freely.
Numbers6,5,&4. Neptune, Saturn, and Uranus. Let the rains come, because on these planets, that means diamonds, diamonds, diamonds.
Number 3. Titan. Admittedly not a planet, but this moon of Saturn has some highly interesting precipitation nonetheless. There, it rains methane.
Number 2. HD189733b. From a distance, it’s swirly blue appearance makes it look peaceful and welcoming. Don’t be fooled. The color and movement likely represent weather fronts spewing molten glass.
Number 1. Venus. Rain on our neighboring planet is comprised of sulfuric acid, which is incredibly caustic. Notably, the surface of Venus is so hot, the showers evaporate before reaching ground.
