Verizon is killing off its Galaxy Note 7 service

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7, the phone that has been literally blowing up, has been dying for a while. Verizon is doing what it can to help move the process along, announcing that January 5th is the last day they will support the phone on their network. This doesn't come as a surprise as last week Samsung announced it will roll out an update soon that prevents the Note 7 from charging or working as a mobile phone. Verizon could disable the phone now but decided to wait until after the holidays in case people can't get a new phone before then.
