Victims of Pakistan plane crash to be identified by DNA

The remains of all 47 passengers and crew members, who were killed in the Pakistan International Airlines plane crash, will be sent to Islamabad to be identified using DNA. Wednesday's crash took place in a village 45 miles northwest of the capital Islamabad, near the city of Abbottabad. The aircraft was travelling from the city of Chitral to Islamabad when it crashed shortly after takeoff due to an engine malfunction. The pilot said he had lost control of one of the two engines, according to PIA's chairman. A sum of about $5,000 will be given to the next of kin of the 47 victims to cover funeral expenses, according to the PIA.
