Air strikes and ferocious artillery fire pound rebel-held east Aleppo as an escalating military offensive underscored the Syrian regime's determination to take full control of the divided city. Barrel bombs and shelling completely destroyed the civil defence headquarters in the eastern district of Bab al-Nairab in Aleppo.
