Hate crimes against minorities rose in 2015, says FBI

Hate crimes against black people and Muslims rose in 2015 according to the FBI's Uniform Crime Report, released on Monday.
More the 5,800 hate crimes occurred in 2015, up from 5,479 in 2014.
The amount of hate crimes against Muslims also rose 67% between the two years.
In more than 59% of bias-related crimes, victims were targeted for their race, ethnicity or religion.
The data also shows that at least 48% of the known offenders were white.
