Horror Spoof | Gamera Meets Plan 9 from Outer Space | Episode 2

Viewers who have seen Plan 9 in theaters or on television have often laughed at the random mistakes that are seen in the film, including visible microphones, ordinary chairs doubling for aircraft equipment, and plumbing hardware visible aboard the aliens' flying saucer. Critics say the absurdity of Plan 9 from Outer Space is found in the dialogue rather than on-screen action. Several exterior sets on sound-stages are interspersed with second-unit footage shot outdoors (for example, the old man's reanimated corpse chasing Paula Trent through the cemetery). A visible shadow of the boom microphone (center of photo's upper edge) in a cockpit scene. During the first aircraft cockpit scene, the first officer is visibly reading from the script in his lap, and a flash of light from a flying saucer reveals the shadow of the boom microphone. Gamera fed on fire and was attracted by other heat sources, such as power plants. He could breathe intensely hot streams of flames from his mouth when caught in a more serious situation. Gamera also has the ability to fly. Generally, Gamera pulls in his arms, legs, head, and tail into his shell, fires flames out of his arm and leg cavities and spins around like a flying saucer. When seriously or gravely injured, Gamera can enter a coma-like state in order to heal. This often fools his opponents into thinking that he is dead. Gamera's only major weakness is cold.
