Breaking: NYPD sergeant shot dead, another injured, in Bronx ambush

An NYPD sergeant was shot and killed, and another was injured, after a gun battle with a heavily-armed robbery suspect in The Bronx Friday. Both officers were struck after responding to a home invasion robbery in Parkchester, sources said. The second sergeant is expected to survive.
