Diwali, also known as Deepavali—literally the "festival of lights"—is the most important festival in Hinduism. Festival period extends over five days which includes festivals like Dhanteras, Diwali, Govardhan Puja, Vishwakarma and BhaiDooj.The festival of Diwali symbolizes the victory of light over darkness or good over evil and its celebration traditionally includes lighting lamps and candles. On Diwali, Lakshmi, the Goddess of wealth and prosperity is worshipped. This day also marks the return of Prince Ram to Ayodhya from a 14 year exile after defeating Ravana.
