Tinker Hatfield is not stranger to creating cool sneakers. From the Air Jordan 3, to the Air Max 1, so the Air Jordan XX9, Tinker has had his hand is nearly ever cool Nike shoe you can think of. This weekend, Tinker's work is once again coming to life via the new Nike Air Max Zero.
Celebrated as the one before the Air Max 1, the Air Max Zero was created based on a drawing Tinker made before the Air Max 1. Recently discovered in the archives at Nike, a team from Nike Sportswear led by Graeme McMillian, was tasked with created the shoe and bringing it up to today's standards. Introduced as part of Nike's Air Max Day, a day that celebrates the Air Max line, the shoe was unveiled in a special sneaker box in Los Angeles.
Erected in a week and glowing through the night, the Air Max Box made its first stop to Los Angeles. The house sized sneaker box featured memorable silhouettes from the Air Max line including favorites like the Nike Air Max 95, the Air Max 2015, the Air Max 1, and the Air Max. Nike granted us full access to the space and invited us to hear from the originator of the design, Tinker Hatfield, and the man responsible for bringing it to life, Graeme McMillian.
