Injuries, Missing People Reported After Fire at Chemical Plant in Germany

A number of people were reported missing, and others injured, following an explosion and a fire at a chemical plant in Ludwigshafen, Germany, on October 17. The explosion at the BASF factory occurred during works on a gas pipeline, according to Frankfurter Allgemeine.Local residents complained of respiratory problems following the explosion, according to the local area’s official Twitter account.
