Staffers at the Pasadena Humane Society and SPCA are overflowing with joy following a very generous anonymous donation, reports WPVI.

On Wednesday morning, somebody came by and dropped $8,000 worth of $20 bills into the Neely Cat Center’s collection box.

The Pasadena Star-News reports that personnel noticed the pile of money at about 11 that morning, but did not see the person who left it there.

In a Facebook post, the Pasadena Humane Society and SPCA noted, “Seeking mystery donor!...We are truly grateful to this kind person and want to thank them on behalf of all the animals...”

According to Jamie Holeman, a spokesperson for the organization, the center handles roughly 12,000 animals per year.

Holeman said, “This $8,000 donation is going to go a long away to provide help, food and shelter for the critters that we have in our care.”
