Why President Bush wants to continue spying on you!

Hi everyone, and welcome to get the daily.com. I'm Andrea Rene and I have a look at some of the nation's top stories.

This morning President Bush held a press conference to calm American's fears about the failing economy. Except, he didn't really admit the economy is having problems. He insisted that the US is not heading into a recession, despite concerns from chief economy analysts. He turned down the idea of a second stimulus package, saying we have to let the first one kick in before another one can be drafted. Also in his speech, he urged Congress to give telecommunications companies immunity from lawsuits for helping the government spy on suspected terrorists. A temporary surveillance law that was passed after September 11th has expired, and now phone companies and the like are coming under fire for illegal wire tappings. The President said allowing these telecommunications companies to be sued would give Al-Qaida and and others a roadmap as to how to avoid the surveillance. I bet you didnt even know he was spying on you did you? If you want to learn more about the President's press conference, head on over to msnbc.com.
