Story Synopsis:
This is an adultery-themed drama serial, with Madeline Chu (her 2nd TV appearance) playing her part in breaking up a dysfunctional marriage between a well-to-do married couple.
Goodlooking husband Zhang Bo-Lin (Huang Shi Nan) & Julie Lin (Chen Anna) have been married for a number of years and both have their own successful careers. They have an intelligent but lonely 10-year-old son, Zhang Hai Ming (Lai Xiang Hua).
Hai Ming is an unhappy kid because his strict mother does not give him enough freedom to pursue his own personal interests. Instead, he is forced to play the violin and the piano.
Hai Ming has an aunt, Zhang Jia Zhen (Ye Su Mei), who had been living in the US since young and arrives to stay in the Zhang residence. Hai Ming is excited to see his aunt; both Hai Ming & Jia Zhen get along very well.
One night, after putting the kid to bed, Jia Zhen accidentally discovers a recorded conversation in his walkman. It turns out that Hai Ming had accidentally recorded a quarrel between his dad & mum.
Jia Zhen begins to realise that the Zhang family is not as harmonious as it seems. She then tries to probe Hai Ming to find out more and realises that relations between his parents had deteriorated about a year ago after an "inconvenient" bedroom incident involving his drunken father and their temporary housemaid, Gao Shu Hua (Madeline Chu). After that incident, Shu Hua had left the household & no longer had any contact with Bo-Lin.
While on a class excursion trip to Pulau Ubin one day, Hai Ming notices Ah-Dai (Edmund Chen) from afar at a kelong. He goes home with wonderful memories of the island and hopes to meet Ah-Dai again.
Hai Ming misses Pulau Ubin & decides to skip school and head down to the island without his parents' knowledge. This time, he approaches Ah-Dai & realises that he has speech difficulties due to a traumatic childhood accident.....
