Skype forces update. In the coming months, Microsoft will disable older versions of Skype for PC and Mac, meaning you'll have to update to keep using the service. Google introduced Android L, the newest version of its operating system, during the Google I/O developers conference this week. Android L, due in the fall, will include improvements like better battery life, a new notification system, and a more lively and colorful visual design. Google creates Ecosystem. At the same conference, Google introduced new platforms including Android Auto, the expected Android Wear, and Android TV. All, have a common goal: to turn Android into a universal operating system that will be everywhere from your smart watch, to your car, to your TV.
