In a candid and emotional address to University of California-Berkeley graduates Saturday, Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg shared how the death of her husband left her swimming in an ocean of grief but also "grateful for each breath in and out — grateful for the gift of life itself."
"One year and 13 days ago, I lost my husband, Dave," said Sandberg, 46.
"I’m sharing this with you in the hopes that today, as you take the next step in your life, you can learn the lessons that I only learned in death," she said.
"Lessons about hope, strength, and the light within us that will not be extinguished."
