Washington Post: 23 Toddler-Involved Shootings So Far This Year

Reports by the Washington Post, the New York Times, and other outlets indicate that accidental shootings by toddlers of themselves or other people happen with surprising frequency in the U.S.

The accidental April 26th shooting death of a Milwaukee woman by her toddler in the car has prompted the release of some startling statistics about the frequency of these incidents.
The Washington Post is reporting that “there have been at least 23 toddler-involved shootings since [January] 1, compared with 18 over the same period last year.”
In 18 of the cases this year, the victims shot themselves, with half succumbing to the self-inflicted wounds.
