Bell Moto 9 Carbon Flex - DR Tested

Bell has long been an industry standard when it comes to head protection and their latest helmet has not disappointed. Before we go any further, remember that without having a helmet-testing lab or being unfortunate enough to crash in the lid, we can only talk about the perceived safety of the helmet and its design elements. On the Carbon Flex, it has a whole different foam design than any other helmet on the market. Instead of one layer of single-impact foam, it has three independent layers of different types of foam that is designed to address slow, medium, and high-speed impacts. Along with the standard crush foam, there are two foam layers that actually spring back to shape. Also, between two of the layers there is a specific amount of slip designed into the helmet so that it can absorb some of the rotational forces of a crash.
