00:00What's up guys, my name is Josh Ellingson and today we're going over Jason Anderson.
00:05RMZ 450 Suzuki.
00:10Pretty unique what this is.
00:15The Suzuki is a lot of stuff is actually production just because that's what the rider prefers.
00:20There is a lot of similarities, the main components engine suspension and some.
00:25Chassis parts is where a lot of this team and a lot of big teams focus on.
00:30And put a lot of money and time invested into because those are the parts that matter and.
00:35Get the most gains with rider feel and on track.
00:39I'm new in.
00:40Jason.
00:41So this year we've been learning each other a lot and currently right now.
00:45Speaking characteristic wise, like he likes smooth power, not a massive monster.
00:50And clutch feel he's really sensitive with certain clutch components and.
00:55How it engages or disengages.
00:57So that's one of the main things we've been focusing on and.
01:00Trying to improve.
01:01A lot of our parts, I would say we're really focused on reliability.
01:05Because in 20 plus one can't even question if something's going to happen.
01:10Or fail.
01:11So.
01:12Reliability is our main focus and then performance.
01:15Comes along on the backside of it.
01:17So we are focused a lot on performance.
01:20But those have to go hand in hand.
01:21We need.
01:22Reliability with performance together.
01:24So.
01:25On Jason's bike.
01:26We run a PC exhaust header and pipe.
01:29A lot.
01:30A lot of the main focuses are performance.
01:33But with the new sound changes.
01:35With Supercross this year.
01:36They've been focusing a lot on sound and.
01:39Create.
01:40Creating.
01:41An exhaust system that.
01:42Doesn't lose.
01:43Performance.
01:44But can also pass.
01:45Sound.
01:46Whether they're tested in the morning.
01:47Or at the end of the night.
01:48After a main event.
01:50We don't want to be losing points over something.
01:52That is out of our control.
01:54So PC is.
01:55Putting a lot of development into this exhaust.
01:57So we're passing throughout the whole day.

02:00Jason's RMZ 450.
02:01We use.
02:02RAP suspension.
02:03Which is.

02:05He doesn't.
02:05Doing an awesome job.
02:06He controls a lot of the chassis parts.

02:18That helps us.

03:08So, we're fortunate enough to, right now, we're just fine-tuning for track control.
03:13And then, our base is good enough to make up for any missed.
03:18Spots that we have on the course.
03:20The Twisted T Suzuki, we use...
03:23...and hubs with DID rims, and those are built by Dovia.
03:27One of the main...
03:28...and reasons kind of touching back on reliability.
03:31We have really good development.
03:33We're testing into these hubs and rims.
03:35So, we don't have to stress if we're gonna break a hub or...
03:38...bender rim or flat spot.
03:40We've got a lot of good strength in these wheels.
03:42And then, the spokes...
03:43...are a little more heavy-duty as well.
03:45So, we're not worrying about loose spokes throughout the race day.
03:48We can just focus on other components of the motorcycle.
03:51For comfortability-wise, I would say...
03:53...just rider triangle for Jason.
03:55Where his bar setup to levers and then...
03:58...even foot pegs.
03:59He's, I wouldn't say a tall guy...
04:01...but he can leverage the bike in different ways.
04:03So, being comfortable in the middle of the seat and not crammed...
04:07...is...
04:08...really important for a guy like him...
04:10...to be able to...
04:11...from seat to stand on seat bound.
04:13And then, how to rail corners as well.
04:16With the Twisted T, Suzuki...
04:18...we're just getting started with data.
04:20We're slowly working into gathering...
04:23...the data and then transferring it to...
04:25...on track or rider changes.
04:27But right...
04:28...right now, we're currently operating off of Jason's feedback...
04:31...and feedback throughout the week.
04:33The biggest challenge with Supercross...
04:35...and setting up a motorcycle...
04:36...is suspension.
04:38...you can make a 450 as fast...
04:40...and beefy as you want...
04:42...but...
04:43...if the chassis isn't right...
04:44...the power doesn't matter.
04:45So...

04:47...main focus.
04:48And then, from there...
04:49...is just fine-tuning all the little...
04:51...other subjectives that...
04:53...they're either starts...

04:55...that's really it.
04:56Suspension's the main component.
