France vows to double intake of Syrian refugees

France says that it will improve its efforts to situate Syrian refugees, which comes after the European Union (EU) and Turkey agreed on a deal that will send one migrant to Europe for each one settled in Turkey.
The continent is expected to take in thousands of Syrian refugees in the coming months, who will then be given the money, visa-free travel and faster process towards membership in the EU.
The French capital of Paris has fell behind its initial pledge back in September to take in 30,000 refugees over a two-year span, while neighboring Germany has welcomed thousands.
