Agora estamos a fritar tanta tarraxa, embolada, batucada e a vida derreteu!\r

Far away from Copacabana beaches, here in famous Uncle Sams land, no one knew what a bahiana was, with her glittering trinkets and baubles. On a beautiful day, a Brazilian lady showed up singing samba in her own African way. The moment the audience listened to her sing Mamãe Eu Quero (Mom, Thats What I Want), they all fell in love for her, and I tell you why. Everyone would whistle at her. Then she said Alô, Alô! (Hello, hello!). Now we all are frying lots of tarraxa, embolada, batucada and life has melted away!\r

(Notes: Mamãe Eu Quero and Alô, Alô! are names of hits Carmen Miranda used to sing in America. Tarraxa, embolada, batucada are typical Brazilian hot samba rhythms that Carmen Miranda and Bando da Lua (her band) brought along with them to the U.S.)\r
