According to officials, the fire broke out on Thursday evening and after a failed attempt to extinguish the flames, chaos ensued and Erica Rosello and her child were separated.
A witness said he ran into Rosello in the hallway, and though the mother denied there was a fire, she did confirm her daughter was inside the unit.
