A video of a young female orangutan rescued earlier this month in West Borneo by International Animal Rescue or IAR shows the tragic impact of keeping wild animals in captivity.
The baby primate, named Joss, clutches herself so tightly, that it appears her arms might be stuck in such a position. However, that's not the case.
Jaclyn Eng, a veterinarian with IAR, said in a news release, "Joss hugs herself constantly because she misses the physical contact and comfort she should still be getting from her mother."
