Chile: Students March Demands Further Educational Reforms

The Chilean Student Federation held a march Tuesday in Santiago to demand additional educational reforms, in which the country's natural resources and fiscal revenue would be used to provide free education on all levels. Students say President Michele Bachelet's initial reforms, approved earlier this year, do not go far enough. Yesterday's demonstration began peacefully, but was later dispersed by police using water cannons. teleSUR
