02:27oh give me a home where the buffalo roam
02:33and the deer and the antelope play
02:37where there are so many creatures with us with so cool features
02:43we can adventure here for millions of days
02:49home home on the prairie
02:54hey so what animal do we want to check out today then?
02:58well let's start with an animal that has prairie in its name
03:01i like it
03:02like a prairie dog
03:04not a dog at all really
03:06but a cute big old ground squirrel
03:08oh yeah that's a good one
03:10or the prairie chicken
03:12i love birds that can dance
03:14and it can really put on a show
03:16hey if you want to bust a move with a cool bird
03:18check out a prairie falcon
03:21this fast-flying relative of the peregrine falcon
03:24actually hunts prairie chickens
03:25well nobody's a better hunter
03:27than the crafty and wily prairie wolf
03:30aka coyote
03:32what about prairie rattlesnake
03:34they eat a lot of prairie dogs
03:36and prairie voles
03:37is there a prairie monkey?
03:43a prairie chicken
03:45this prairie chicken's looking really nervous
03:48something's bothering him
03:53this might be it
03:54we're heading straight for some kind of meteorological event
03:57it could be a thunderstorm
03:59a blizzard
04:00or a...
04:00a twister!
04:02jimmy
04:03take it off autopilot
04:04and get us out of here
04:08too late!
04:13the tornado has us!
04:15whoa!
04:18twisters occur over hot flat lands
04:20a common phenomenon of the prairie habitat
04:23the tortuga's taking a beating
04:27whoa!
04:29we have no choice everybody!
04:31no!
04:32don't even think it!
04:33but we have to!
04:36the twister has the tortuga in its clutches
04:39I'll make it a girl!
04:41to the garage!
04:44the tortuga's too large to escape the grip of the twister
04:48but i think we can each take smaller
04:50lighter high-powered individual flying devices to get out
04:54let's go!
04:56let's meet up on the outside!
04:58I'm right behind you bro!
05:00ah!
05:01whoa!
05:02ride out with maximum power!
05:08ah!
05:10how are we ever gonna find each other?
05:38no one in sight!
05:39all right then!
05:40first step of emergency wildcraft protocol would dictate that i make contact!
05:45calling all creatures!
05:47not working!
05:50this must be because of interference or damage to the tortuga's central communication system!
05:54hmmm i'll have to override with the emergency transponder to send an emergency message
06:01issuing a meeting point!
06:02calling all wildcats!
06:04let's join us!
06:18let's join up with a prairie animal!
06:20find a prairie animal!
06:20find a prairie...
06:22where this cool creature...
06:24let's all meet up there!
06:25prairie what?
06:27prairie what?
06:28he must mean prairie chicken!
06:30he would pick something that is advertising itself!
06:32and we all saw it fly through the tortuga so he knows we all know what it looks like!
06:37so it would be the most logical animal to pick!
06:39i've got to find a prairie chicken!
06:43prairie witch?
06:44find a pra...
06:46where this cool creature...
06:48let's all meet up there!
06:50chris likes to climb so he'll want to meet in a tree where a prairie monkey lives!
06:55so i have to search for a prairie monkey!
06:59now i just have to find a tree!
07:07hmmm...
07:07prairie where?
07:09chris must have meant that goes for prairie dog!
07:11the most common animal and the most easy to find!
07:14that would be the most logical place to meet!
07:17all i have to do is go to the nearest prairie dog town and everybody else will be there!
07:22prairie who?
07:25that's easy!
07:26my brother would go for an animal with an awesome creature power!
07:30either a prairie wolf or a prairie falcon!
07:35uh... emergency beacon has been sent!
07:37and i think i really nailed it with the meeting spot!
07:40a prairie rattlesnake is the perfect animal to find!
07:43on a stormy day, he lays out in the sun after the clouds pass to warm up!
07:49you can't miss him!
07:52oh!
07:54i got the message!
07:55they'll all be here in no time!
07:57my plan is foolproof!
07:59so prairie rattlesnakes are territorial, right?
08:04yeah, in this area, there's only one in a square mile territory!
08:09so figuring where we've landed, everybody should be gravitating to the nearest rattlesnake!
08:13and that's... you!
08:15right here!
08:25huh?
08:28a prairie chicken!
08:30and this is a lek!
08:31that means something exciting may be happening soon!
08:34because a lek is where a male prairie chicken does his dance display!
08:38i love bird dances!
08:41they are my favorite thing in the creature world!
08:44am i the only one seeing this?
08:48that is some dance floor flare hidden under those feathers!
08:54that sounds called booming! he's bringing the boom!
09:00the female prairie chickens are attracted to the sound of the dancing prairie chicken!
09:04chris said to meet at the prairie chicken!
09:07where is everybody?
09:08why aren't chris martin jimmy and koki showing up?
09:16huh?
09:18huh?
09:46there are thousands and thousands of prairie dogs!
09:49when i walk by!
09:56where the falcon is flying so high where the grass is so green and the air is so clean
10:03and there isn't a cloud in the sky!
10:09it coming!
10:11there you are prairie falcon!
10:13almost as fast as your cousin the peregrine aren't you?
10:16hey!
10:16prairie falcons are so similar to peregrine falcons!
10:20maybe i can activate falcon powers using the peregrine falcon disc!
10:26and touching a prairie falcon!
10:31i don't know chris!
10:33was it really such a good idea to meet up with a bird that can fly so fast and so
10:36far?
10:37hey!
10:38wait up!
10:42gotta find a tree somewhere on the prairie!
10:46a tree!
10:47huh?
10:48no prairie monkey!
10:50no signal!
10:52that's why i can't find any pictures of a prairie monkey!
10:55what does a prairie monkey look like anyway?
11:11oh right!
11:12the prairie chicken uses the tall grass to hide in!
11:18phew! that was a close one!
11:21hey!
11:21wait up!
11:25aviva!
11:26you found the prairie falcon too!
11:28no!
11:29i was waiting with the prairie chicken and you and your prairie falcon scared him away!
11:34why were you waiting with a prairie chicken?
11:36i think that's where chris meant for us to meet up but i could have got it wrong!
11:41me too!
11:42i just kind of guessed he meant for us to meet up at an animal with a really cool creature
11:46power
11:46like a prairie falcon or a prairie wolf!
11:49have you tried the prairie wolf yet?
11:51not yet!
11:52i guess that's next on our list!
11:54yeah!
11:54let's go find a prairie wolf!
12:03okay is every one of you doing that?
12:09this is really starting to get to me!
12:13yeah!
12:14yeah!
12:15oh no!
12:15now i'm doing it too!
12:18yeah!
12:19i gotta get out of here!
12:21yeah!
12:22yeah!
12:23yeah!
12:25yeah!
12:25you know the prairie wolves also known as coyotes might be the smartest wild animal in north america!
12:31they're that smart?
12:33yeah!
12:34300 years ago coyotes lived mainly out here on the prairies but they are so intelligent and adaptable
12:41that they've spread all across north america!
12:44one could be living in your backyard and you wouldn't even know it!
12:47oh!
12:48i would know it!
12:49uh!
12:49no you wouldn't!
12:50would too!
12:51not unless the coyote wanted you to know it!
12:54come on!
12:55huh?
12:57do you get the feeling we're being watched?
13:00by a prairie wolf?
13:02huh?
13:03what?
13:04how long has that coyote been following us?
13:07hey aviva!
13:08don't even say it!
13:09i told you!
13:11i'm not listening!
13:12so...
13:12okay i admit it coyotes are obviously very smart
13:17he was tracking us that whole time we were talking about him so he already kind of comes with the
13:23name
13:24tracker he's a super prairie predator and can track down just about any animal out here
13:30hey if tracker can track down any animal out here then if we follow him he'll eventually lead us to
13:38the mystery prairie animal that chris was talking about oh i'm with you aviva tracker you could be
13:44the key to bringing the wildcrantz team back together
13:54oh i've been hanging with this prairie rattlesnake for about two hours now i mean
14:00how hard can it be to find a prairie rattlesnake you just look for a big sunning rock
14:04and boom there's a rattlesnake where is everybody
14:11what's that oh it has markings like a rattlesnake but not a blocky head
14:18uh-oh it's a prairie kingsnake immune to rattlesnake venom and a predator of rattlesnakes
14:36a prairie dog
14:37wow look at all those little ground squirrels
14:41you're right aviva they are a kind of ground squirrel popular name prairie dog one of the
14:46largest ground squirrels in north america a prairie dog town could be huge the biggest one ever was
14:5325 000 square miles wide and home to 400 million prairie dogs that's a lot of meals for a coyote
15:02hey where
15:03is our coyote i don't know he was here just a minute ago do you hear that
15:10that's the jump yip a prairie dog's warning call so that means
15:18there wait that's not a coyote that's a koki
15:24yep what's she doing a jump yip but i have no idea why all the prairie dogs are wondering too
15:36there's tracker see how smart coyotes are he's using koki as a decoy while all the prairie
15:42dogs are distracted by koki our coyote is sneaking up on lunch
16:04i was in some kind of prairie dog trance it was like those sounds the jump yips yeah
16:11we're contagious i couldn't stop jump yipping let's get out of here before they start jump yipping again
16:23what were you doing wandering around in prairie dog town anyway well chris said
16:28me that the prairie dogs didn't he they're the most common animal that's why you're here right
16:32well actually i started at the prairie chicken and i was chasing a prairie falcon around at first
16:38until we joined up with this prairie wolf aka coyote whose name is now tracker and he led us here
16:44to
16:45you we think the prairie wolf will lead us to everybody no matter what animal they thought chris
16:50said to meet up at sounds good to me let's keep following your prairie wolf aka coyote
17:00now this is a rarely seen before moment a face-off between a venomous prairie rattlesnake
17:05and a predatory prairie kingsnake most animals will heed the rattlesnake's warning because they
17:11won't want to receive a venomous bite oh rattlesnake venom doesn't even affect him making the king
17:19snake a deadly predator of the rattlesnake like he does with all his prey the king snake swallows the
17:28rattlesnake hole oh well that's nature oh creature pot is down i forgot oh no everybody's looking for
17:39the nearest prairie rattlesnake and now he's gone i've got to go find another prairie rattlesnake
17:53a rattlesnake that's what he's thinking too this snake has the markings of a rattlesnake
17:58and he's making a rattling sound but look closer his tail has no rattles he's just vibrating his
18:04tail against the dry grass to make the coyote think twice about trying to eat him so he's fooling the
18:12coyote well maybe the coyote isn't so smart after all huh martin uh aviva you thought it was a
18:19rattlesnake too okay never mind are there any other animals that start with prairie
18:25hmm let me see prairie cat no prairie turtle prairie toad prairie snail no no and no
18:33and definitely not prairie monkeys remember when jimmy joked about a prairie monkey yeah
18:46ow these prairie monkeys must be rare maybe even endangered because there are hardly any trees out
18:53here i wonder how everybody else is doing i've got to find another prairie rattlesnake we're all
19:01going to meet up bison the largest animal of the prairie weighing over two tons and these animals
19:09run in herds in the tens of thousands ah i should have picked the bison also known as prairie buffalo
19:17they're the ones who keep the long grass on the prairie mowed down
19:28whoa a bison head-butting battle oh i wish martin were here he'd love to see this i need to
19:36get a
19:36front row seat for this battle
19:55i think that sounds like an oh of a monkey
20:00and that must be them cracking nuts there must be a forest full of prairie monkeys over the hill
20:06oh
20:12jimmy
20:21it's a stampede
20:23run jimmy
20:28all aboard
20:30whoa
20:39home home home on the prairie where the coyote tirelessly trots
20:46and wherever he goes the coyote knows all of his favorite spots
20:54hey where's he going maybe he's tired does tracker know something we don't
21:01do you feel that oh no not an earthquake first a twister now this
21:08well it's either an earthquake or a bison stampede
21:23okay i admit it coyotes aren't smart we're not going to be able to outrun them any ideas
21:30yeah
21:31yeah jump on how do we do that without getting trampled
21:38okay
21:39i got it i'll use my m.i.k. robot arm
21:41whoa
21:45whoa
21:46okay you've even reel yourself in
21:50whoop
21:51yeah
21:53we all met up well it would have been a lot easier if we'd all met up at the prairie
21:58rattlesnake
21:59huh what are you talking about i thought you said prairie wolf i thought you said prairie
22:03chicken i heard prairie dog you never said rattlesnake
22:07yeah i did guys we've got a bigger problem
22:14look what the twister did to my poor tortuga
22:17and what is the stampede gonna do to it
22:20and we'll be swept right past it on the backs of these bison
22:23i've got an idea we could use bison power to right the tortuga but we'll have to act fast
22:29activate bison powers
22:37to the tortuga rescue
22:51yeah they did it
22:59oh
23:03this creature adventure turned out just great
23:07what hey we all found each other and the tortuga and we met a lot of cool prairie creatures
23:15and got to be part of one of nature's greatest spectacles our herd of stamp eating bison
23:22living free and on the prairie
23:26so the prairie grasslands is a special habitat
23:30that supports an incredible collection of creatures all life here depends on the grasses
23:35and all the creatures are specially designed and have the abilities they need to survive here
23:40like them bison the prairies support a huge amount of animals but the hugest of all is the bison
23:51bison are peaceful creatures they really just want to be out here and graze but if they're ever
23:57threatened by a predator they band together and become a force to be reckoned with and protect each other
24:05now what creature will we run into next
24:07chris stop a prairie dog town now these prairie dogs are so tiny but together
24:14as a species they eat more grass than any other animal on the prairie even more than the huge bison
24:21do there are just millions of prairie dogs out here they tend to graze all the grass right around their
24:27burrow and then they have to adventure farther out and farther out in order to find fresh grass
24:34before a prairie dog ventures out she'll scout around making sure the coast is clear she's most
24:40endangered when she's away from the safety of the burrow and she runs for it down another hole hey pronghorns
24:51pronghorn antelope would be a tasty snack for predators like wolves cougars and coyotes
24:58that is if any of these predators could catch them pronghorn use these wide open spaces of the
25:04prairie to exploit their awesome creature power speed yeah out here in the open a pronghorn can run all
25:12out with no obstacles in a straight line fast fast fast what's the pronghorn's motto when in doubt run
25:22there's a lot of ground to cover and many creatures to meet when you're doing a who's who of the
25:27prairies and if you're lucky enough to live near a prairie get out and explore keep on creature
25:35adventuring we'll see you on the creature trail the long neck of the draft gives it an advantage for
25:42reaching high leaves but a disadvantage for drinking on the ground but that giraffe has a solution
25:49spread those legs wide and bend that long neck down now that is probably the most vulnerable position
25:56for a draft because lions that's when they want to attack it because it'll take the giraffe a little
26:02while to get up and get running the most vulnerable time for a giraffe is when it's drinking water
