Ragan understood that she was trying something completely new on a subject that she had never worked on before but Ragan relied on her roots in Minnesota along with some help from her mother and grandmother to improve her skills and to begin developing recipes that were unique and different from the rest. She understood she had to work hard, be innovative and discover recipes to satisfy people who would be looking forward to using them. Therefore, she relied on the information that she had to develop healthy and good recipes. She also made it a point always to use ingredients, which did not belong to the locality to give the recipes; she discovered a taste that was different.
