Mazhoranca miraton me 72 vota pro dhe 62 kundër formulën e privatizimit te shoqërisë "Albpetrol". Ky ligj është shoqëruar me debate te ashpra mes opozitës dhe mazhorances.
Sipas deputeteve socialiste shitja e "Alpetrolit" behet vetëm për interesa klienteliste duke keqpërdoruar burimet natyrore te vendit. Për opozitën privatizimi është një veprim antiekonomik. Por ministri i ekonomisë Nasip Naço deklaroi se nuk do te privatizohen rezervat e naftës por asetet e "Albpetrol". Duke iu referuar një studimi ndërkombëtar deputetja Mimi Kodheli deklaroi se konjuktuarit e tregut diktojnë qe nafta duhet te mbetet ne duart e shtetit. Edhe te tjerë socialiste janë shprehur kundër privatizimit te "Albpetrol". Kompania "Albpetrol" aktualisht ka 4 mije punonjës. Pas privatizimit me shume se gjysma e tyre do te shkurtohen nga puna. Por sipas ligjit te miratuar ata do te marrin edhe për një vit pagesën nga kompania qe do te blejë "Albpetrolin". Aktualisht nuk ka një shifër se sa do te jete vlera e "Albpetrol" por këtë do ta përcaktoje kompania e konsulences, kontraktuar nga shteti shqiptar.
