Argentina: 5 Years Since Passing of Nestor Kirchner

Today marks the five-year anniversary of the death of former Argentine President Nestor Kirchner. He was elected President in 2003, when Argentina was at its lowest point. He guided the nation out of trouble and implemented enormously popular social policies. He was also responsible for prosecuting members of the last military dictatorship and has been a symbol of human rights in Argentina.
