When a surfer is engaged in their pursuit, it’s just them against the water. The thrill of catching a great wave means they often like to position themselves right where the waves are beginning to break, an area known as the lineup. Imagine, therefore, a surfer’s surprised to see a 20 ft gray whale swim right through that spot. Daron had a close encounter while out at California’s Silver Strand Beach in Coronado recently.
