A day after a Sumatran tiger at New Zealand’s Hamilton Zoo claimed the life of a keeper, it was announced that the facility has decided not to put the animal down.

On Sunday morning, a female zookeeper in New Zealand was killed by a Sumatran tiger named Oz. 
One day after the incident, which occurred at the Hamilton Zoo, Lance Vervoort, Hamilton City Council’s General Manager Community, announced that the facility’s senior staff members have decided not to put the animal down.
