Drought Conditions Lead To Discovery Of WWII Plane In Poland

The remains of a Soviet plane have been recovered from a lake in Poland following a prolonged drought.

It has been 70 years since the end of the Second World War, but many remnants of the war still remain. 


A Soviet fighter plane was recently recovered from a lake off the Bzura River in Poland. The bodies of the airmen aboard the plane when it was likely felled by Nazi artillery were also found. 


As of now, recovery workers have located the plane's instrument panel, engine, radio station and one wheel—in addition to multiple effects of the crew.
