Their debut album - "All Eternity" - was released in Finland by the end of 1999, and the band then signed contracts with Nuclear Blast Records (for Europe) and Pony Canyon Inc. (for Japan). The band even got a music video filmed and obtained a fair amount of exposure, allowing them to go on tour with bands Dark Tranquillity, Sentenced, and In Flames.

Tonmi Lillman aka "Tonmi" and Joonas Koto left the band after the release of "Jaded", Joonas Koto returned in 2006, he even contributed in the "Wounds Wide Open" album, but Tonmi, who had done plenty of work in the production of the albums, and also by recording many of the instruments, wouldnt return any time soon.

The band split up in April 2009, but Jape reunited it in July with a modified line-up, bringing back Tonmi Lillman to the band. Later it became evident that because of lack of time the new album couldn't be recorded with Tonmi, so the line-up was changed again.

They have an unreleased ''new'' song, recorded in late 2008, "Kissing the Flames" (05:29).

To/Die/For appears on the "Scorpions Tribute" album, playing the song "Passion Rules The Game".
