(1949) A twisted murder-mystery tale of a damsel in considerable distress, with a step-mother and her daughter out to take the lassie's sanity and her inheritance now that poor daddy is cooling in the crypt. Femme fatales, a chase in the woods, an exhumation in the crypt, an eerie seance, and the oh-so-Hammeresque surroundings of Oakley Court. Not bad for a "second feature"!
Based upon (and named for) an enormously popular British radio series, and, like that radio program, narrated by the titular "Man in Black" himself, Valentine Dyall.
