On Thursday, a 5-year-old girl died after being struck by a leaping sturgeon in Florida.

On Thursday, a 5-year-old girl died after being struck by a leaping sturgeon in Florida.
Jaylon Rippy was boating with her family on the Suwannee River when the incident occurred. Her mother and brother were also injured.
They were airlifted to Gainsville's Shands Hospital according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission or FWC.
A leaping sturgeon can weigh as much as 200 pounds and get over 7 feet of air between the water and its tail fins.
