Report: Amazon May Pay Individuals To Deliver Purchases

A recent story in the Wall Street Journal reports that Amazon has been internally developing a program called ‘On My Way’ which would pay individuals to pick up packages from specific locations and deliver them to customers.

Amazon may be jumping on the crowdsourced delivery bandwagon.

According to a recent Wall Street Journal story, the online retail giant is currently devising a mobile application that would pay the public to act as couriers on its behalf.
The idea would be for Amazon to keep packages at specified business locations, and people who are nearby or planning to travel along the route to the final destination would pick up the boxes and drop them off on their way. 

This is likely the reason the program is being referred to internally as 'On My Way.'
