ECB keeps rates unchanged at record lows

The European Central Bank (ECB) has kept interest rates unchanged, months after launching its historic stimulus package.

As expected, the ECB left the main refinancing rate at a record low of 0.15 percent.

Consumer prices increased more than expected in May,returning the eurozone to inflation after months of declines and stagnation.

That uptick in inflation has been welcome news for the ECB – which launched a trillion euro bond buying programme in March in a dramatic move to stimulate growth.
