Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Splinter Speaks LCD handheld review. http://www.ClassicGameRoom.com Shop CGR shirts & mugs! http://www.CGRstore.com A follow-up to the previous year’s game, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Splinter Speaks is another LCD handheld from Konami. Though it’s housed within the same uniquely shaped plastic, Splinter Speaks is a bit of a departure from the first LCD game. Featuring larger, more detailed sprites and simpler gameplay, Splinter Speaks tasks players with simply surviving enemy onslaughts, scrapping the more objective-based gameplay of its predecessor. The game also allows players to choose which of the four Turtles they’d like to play as, which is a great addition, and allows three hits before losing a life. These changes make Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Splinter Speaks a less frustrating game with more of that TMNT character. And at least this time, you don’t have to swim in the sewer.
