IMF Praises Brazilian Social Program

International Monetary Fund Managing Director Christine Lagarde in a visit to Rio de Janeiro's sprawling slum neighborhoods praised Brazil's flagship social program Bolsa Familia. Through this program, to which the government allocates 0.4% of the country's GDP, direct and conditional financial aid is provided to poor families.
