Mexico: Police Officers Linked to Killing of Mayoral Candidate

The State Attorney General of the central-western Mexican state of Michoacan announced that 23 municipal police officers would be deposed due to their alleged involvement in the May 14 killing of Enrique Hernandez, candidate of the left-wing Morena party for mayor of Yurecuaro. Violence has marred the upcoming July 7 elections in Mexico, in which four candidates have been killed and three kidnapped. teleSUR
