A coach carrying British seasonal workers crashed on Tuesday afternoon into a cliff-face near the resort of Alpe d'Huez in the French Alps, killing three people.
The coach, carrying around 50 passengers and towing a trailer full of ski equipment, was driving down a steep mountain road which features 21 hairpin bends, 65km from Grenoble. Two drivers were also on board, according to the BBC.
According to Reuters, "police said the coach crashed at around 2:30 pm, before turning the final hairpin bend. It burst into flames immediately after.
Emergency services arrived at the scene soon after the accident. Several passengers managed to free themselves from the wreckage, while others were rescued by the emergency services. Three people died trapped in the vehicle and four were seriously injured.
The most seriously injured were taken to hospital by helicopter, while other passengers were transported by ambulances.
French authorities said an investigation has been ordered into the cause of the accident."
