Stevan Koprivica and Egon Savin made a winning combination of motifs and characters from Chekhov’s drama Uncle Vanya and Mediterranean melancholy. It has been a while since we had a chance to see a play which depicts an implosion of human emotions. The heroes of Providenza are getting mutually exhausted in love polygons, unaware of the plane flying over them heralding a new, crueler time. It is a genuine theatrical study of the feeling of love which shows that love is a complex feeling with its light as well as its dark hues. In the theatrical sense Providenza is made in the best tradition of dramatic theatre - with psychologically grounded characters and subtly guided plot.
