Ivica Buljan has approached Krleža’s work scrupulously and comprehensively. Together with set designer Aleksandar Denić he has created a stage where summer and winter last simultaneously, as well as interior and exterior, both Krleža’s and our time… as if the entire twentieth century is marked with the atmosphere of A Wolfhound. This strong feeling is contributed to by acting of the Croatian Theatre’s champions Nina Violić (Eva) and Alma Prica (Marija). This monumental and exciting play is the result of the artistic and production aspirations of the Croatian National Theatre in regard to national drama and as such is a mandatory part of the repertoire of Sterijino pozorje as a festival that has a great regional importance.
