Doctor Nušić consistently transfers Nušić’ play into contemporary social context using the principles of the Brechtian theatre. Taking a look at Nušić’ play through a new, much darker frame, we get an insight into the deep link between ours and Nušić’ era. Although Kokan Mladenović introduces significant changes into the text, he remains true to the main value of Nušić’ work - satire and depicting characters. Another reason for the significance of the play is the fact that it shows that co-production work in the theatre yields relevant artistic results, and that the actors that we have watched primarily in dramatic roles can successfully play a series of theatrical genres.
