The number of vets taking their own lives surpassed combat casualties long ago for the recent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Medical science has allowed many more people to survive combat injuries, but the toll on spirit, mind, mental health, heart…what do they come home to, how do they live with their experiences? I met Guy at the AMA 2 years ago and this song is actually a spoken word song on his Grammy winning album. He really understood the situation. Not unlike what has been happening to veterans for generations, in pain, becoming addicted to pain-killers, feeling despairing and alone, taking their own lives. National human disgrace that we let these folks suffer alone.
